Okay well just for you mom i will call
the sickness by the fancy name of food poisoning. So yeah i really am
happy to have my comps changed right now. He has 9 months in the mission
But anyways, i have one exciting story from our
first week as comps here. On saturday we had to go and clean the
church in the morning so we went there and cleaned it up. We usually
dont take our cell phone with us anywhere but i had to bring it with
me this day. We left the cleaning thing to go and pick up a lunch kind
of a long walks away. We got there and they gave us lunch to take home
in a bag. We headed home and it was just a straight walk to the main
road we lived on. We walked on this street and saw 5 teenagers on the
side of the road in front of us pull bandanas over their faces and put
their hoods on, we knew at this moment we were toasted. We tried to
walk by them and they waited until we had gone by them then came
running at us. I looked back and my comp was surrounded by them and
they started searching his pockets and asking for money. I pulled out
a peso or two from my pocket and got them to leave him alone. They
started searching my pockets and taking things out and keeping them.
They took all they wanted and left us alone. We were shocked by what
had just happened but we looked down at the bag of food and we still
had it so it wasnt a complete loss. Little did we know that not even
200 yards down that same road was another punk. He shook our hands
then stole our food and the little dignity that we had left. We wanted
to fight him but mission rules says no to that, and he had a bag that
he kept his hand in so we decided to let him just take the food. They
ended up stealing my comps leather gloves, our cell phone, the map to
our area, the watch that dad gave me, our food, and our innocence
haha. They didnt hurt us but we were and are still really mad at them.
The craziest thing was that they robbed us with a smile and it was
kind of creepy. Later that day we had one of the most spiritual
baptisms that ive seen my whole mission. Saturday was quite the
rollercoaster of a day that one only hopes to avoid, but it turned out
really nice. We got robbed twice in 5 minutes on the same road. The
guy taking our food at the very last was like the final slap in the
face to us, the cherry on top, the kick in the shins after your
already on the ground, but we didnt resist even though we wanted to.
It was a good time and im fine dont worry about it :) I was blessed
that they didnt find my personal credit card, mission credit card, my
document, or my 50 pesos that i had in my back pocket so there is one
miracle out of maybe alot that happened that day. So i just wanted to
tell you that im all good and am looking forward to finding more
people that are waiting! Love you mom!

I had to go back and read this one again. I love the fact that missionaries can get robbed, and get right back to the Lords work with a positive attitude. Awesome, and glad he is okay.
